Movement and Art Workshop featuring The SELDOMS and visual artist Edra Soto
Middle School students are invited to join us for this unique and engaging workshop on movement in visual art. This workshop features acclaimed visual artist Edra Soto and The SELDOMS dancers working with their “Toolbox” concept linking dance and visual art. The event concludes with a dance performance by The SELDOMS.

4:00 - 5:30 Workshop lead by Carrie Hansen Artistic Director of The SELDOMS, visual artist Edra Soto, and RAC teachers based on Soto’s work, and exploring movement in visual art and dance. Edra Soto is known for her evocative constructions. She and Carrie have been working on a new dance to be performed in Edra’s “Screen House” installed in Millennium Park, Chicago. Students will be led through a drawing and movement exercises and conclude with an opportunity to share their work with the dancers.
5:30 - 6:00 Dancers lead student share. (Parents arrive)
6:00 - 6:30 Performance by The SELDOMS dancers
Parents (and public if room capacity allows) invited to The Seldoms’ performance.
